Modern soul with an enchanting voice, Tingsek returns with his eighth full-length album

“Lights Out Association”, out today!

After three years of silence, artist, songwriter, and producer Magnus Tingsek is back with a new full-length album bubbling with creativity, self-reflection, and humor. The album “Lights Out Association” is released today, followed by a tour where Tingsek will be accompanied by his full band.

Every other Wednesday, Magnus and his long-time colleague and co-producer Måns Mernsten locked themselves in the studio, working late into the night. The studio became a sanctuary where they could shut out the world and rediscover creativity without disturbance. This method proved highly effective, especially when the grip of everyday life was tight, a way to reclaim the nights after the early years of parenthood.

While the previous album Home (2021) revolved around family and the love of home, Lights Out Association takes a more introspective turn. Self-criticism, humor, and playfulness permeate the entire album, something especially evident in the single “Like Folklore”. The track offers a soulful and funky pop experience, featuring brass arrangements by Peter Zimny, one of Sweden’s most sought-after horn players and a long-time friend of Tingsek.

With “Lights Out Association” out today, Tingsek is gearing up to hit the road with his full band. Appearances on Nyhetsmorgon and Gokväll SVT the week after release, as well as confirmed live appearances on P4 Morgon Malmö and Musikplats Stockholm P4.
